CVFD Partners with Emergency Chaplain Group

CVFD is excited to announce its partnership with Emergency Chaplain Group to provide Chaplaincy service to the department.

Emergency Chaplain Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit who specializes in providing both on-scene and “behind the scenes” support for first responders and victims of tragedies.

In recent years, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has been recognized as being prevalent in first responders. Emergency Chaplain Group specializes in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) which has been shown to be an effective tool in the prevention and management of PTSD. Emergency Chaplain Group is unique in that all of its chaplains are currently or have served as Police, Fire, or EMS which helps them connect with the stresses that are encountered on scenes. While CVFD hopes that our first responders will never suffer from PTSD, our department is putting the tools in place to allow our first responders to begin managing the stress in the best manner possible.

In addition to supporting our first responders, Emergency Chaplain Group is also available for dispatch to scenes to support our citizens in times of tragedy.
