First Aid, CPR, AED Training
CVFD Station #4 (May 18th & June 22nd, 8am – 1pm)
This course is taught to the National Safety Council curriculum. This course is targeted to those with little to no medical training. Participants who pass the course will receive a National Safety Council completion card. More information about the course can be found here.
CVFD Station #4 (June 22nd, 1:30pm – 5:30pm)
The HeartCode course is taught to the American Heart Association (AHA) curriculum. This course is targeted to healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic life support skills. Participants who pass this course will receive an AHA certification card upon completion. More information about the course can be found here.
Stop the Bleed!
CVFD Station #4 (June 22nd, 2pm – 4pm)
This course FREE and it’s for everyone! Traumatic events such as falls, broken bones, car accidents, gunshot wounds, explosions, etc can lead to a victim bleeding out in minutes. It is critical to be able to stop the bleeding in the first few minutes following a major injury. This class will teach emergency treatment that anyone can use to save a life before first responders arrive. Students have the option to purchase a tourniquet that can be used in an emergency for $25. Training tourniquets are provided for use during the course, and purchasing a tourniquet is not required.
