TRAINING

The Training Division is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for all operational members of the department. Our Instructors must be aware of new developments and technology in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical care to provide the most current training available. The Training Division is also responsible for running our Fire and EMS academies which are held throughout the year.

DIVISIONS

Functions of the division

To effectively function, the Operations Division must maintain the highest level of proficiency in accordance with standards and criteria established at the federal, state, and local level.

The Training Division has the responsibility to monitor these changing requirements and implement training activities to ensure the department is well prepared. The development of training programs occurs through the research of new and innovative training practices, review of departmental curriculum and data gathered from the After-Action Reviews of incidents.

Training Division Leadership

Reporting to the Assistant Fire Chief, the Fire Training Division is overseen by Captain David Hinojosa.

Reporting to the Assistant Chief of EMS, the EMS Training Division is overseen by Captain Cameron Veitch.
